MALTS OF SCOTLAND. De passie voor single malt scotch whisky, het persoonlijk contact bij de distilleerderijen en de vreugde om nieuwe whisky’s te ontdekken waren de drijvende krachten achter de oprichting van Malts of Scotland. Na jarenlange zoektocht om de beste en zeldzaamste fusten te selecteren en te kopen, werd in 2009 besloten om de eerste release van de eerste reeks van 11 speciale Single Cask Scotch whisky onder de naam van Malts of Scotland te bottelen. Het motto van Malts of Scotland is, speciale bottelingen voor bijzondere momenten op de markt te brengen en ervoor te zorgen dat er geen concessies gedaan worden aan de zichzelf opgelegde hoge normen. Alle details zijn van belang: van de zorgvuldige selectie van het vat tot de vormgeving en uitstraling van de verpakkingen en het bedrijf. In de warehouses van de Malts of Scotland rijpen nog zo’n 400 vaten whisky van meer dan 60 Schotse distilleerderijen. Dit ruime aanbod zorgt ervoor dat we in de toekomst zeer zeker verwent zullen worden met meer bijzondere bottelingen. De whisky's van Malts of Scotland worden niet gekleurd, zijn un chill-filterd en worden op cask strength gebotteld. Glen First Class: This Whisky is from Speyside`s only family run distillery, famous and dearly beloved for their Whiskies maturing in Ex Sherry Butts. This was distilled in 2000 and shows the distillery`s strengths perfectly: Fruity notes of apples and oranges plus the typical Sherry markers like cherries, honey, coffee and chocolate. Despite its young age the Whisky is fully mature and mouth-filling. The attractive colour makes it a visual pleasure as well and rounds up the excellent overall impression. Bottled at a demanding drinking strength of 50 percent this Whisky is the perfect all day dram.
