Deze 9 jaar oude Chairman's Reserve - Single Cask Rum is geselecteerd en gebotteld ter ere van het 100 jarig bestaan voor de importeur Van Wees. Het resultaat is een zeer bijzondere en gelimiteerde 2011 jaargang Master’s Selection. Gerijpt in een ex-bourbon cask (nr.213032010). Gestookt in 2011 en in 2021 zijn er slechts 329 flessen op 46% gebotteld.

St. Lucia Distillers is the last remaining distillery in Saint Lucia and was a result of a merger between the two then remaining distilleries in 1972. Following the collapse of the sugar industry and the last sugar estate closing in Saint Lucia in the 1960s, previous on-island sources of molasses were extinguished. St. Lucia Distillers adapted to the times and began importing molasses from neighboring islands by tanker boat, using the convenient depth of the nearby bay, Roseau Bay, to anchor. ?St. Lucia Distillers is globally known for its vast variety of rums due to the many tools at our disposal. Three pot stills, one Coffey column still, different raw materials, a wide variety of barrel types, two different yeast types, unique local herbs and fruits for infusions, and the hot Caribbean sun all make for an array of products of the highest quality - all of which embody the DNA of Saint Lucian rum.

By the mid 1990s Laurie Barnard, St. Lucia Distillers' Chairman was adamant it was time for change: "If we are to export our rum we need to be different; we need to have the tools to make great rum the old way. A column still and molasses is one dimensional.'" Thus began a journey which saw the commissioning of three pot stills to add to the existing Coffey still as well as he replanning of sugar cane that had ceased back in 1962. Ever innovative, never content with mediocrity and possessed by a fierce competitive steak. Laurie drove the idea of having a diversity of rums from different stills and aged in contrasting woods so that the blender would have a palate of maturates from which to create a great rum.
