This vintage is a true example of balance: expressive and complex, a bouquet of many different fruit. This vintage has remained young and fresh. The tannins are silky and fine. This wine is very suitable for a drinking now but can also be kept for several years, with a very good ageing potential. Famille Perrin, 2017-10-01 Deep garnet colour with a faint touch of brick in the rim. Classic Beaucastel earthy/meaty/gamey nose with an undercurrent of stewed strawberries, Chinese dried plums and soy. Quite elegant on the palate with a medium to full body and a reasonably taut structure of medium to high acidity and a medium level of velvety tannins. Layer upon layer of spices and savoury flavours. Long finish. Wine Advocate, Note : 94/100

Wine Advocate 95/100 Reminiscent of the 1995, the 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape is tight, structured and backward, with high acidity and tannin. Showing notes of blackcurrants, black raspberry, truffle, damp earth and cedar, with medium to full-bodied richness and depth, it needs another 3-5 years to reach the early stages of maturity, at which point it will hold for another decade or more. Domaine de Trévallon (rood) 2004

Eloi Dürrbach plantte zijn eerste wijngaard in de Alpilles in 1973. Er wordt 15 hectare rood geproduceerd, gemaakt van gelijke hoeveelheden cabernet sauvignon en syrah en 2 hectare voornamelijk gemaakt van marsanne en roussane. Er wordt hard gewerkt om de wijnstokken te integreren in dit betoverende landschap van struikgewas met groene eiken, olijf- en amandelbomen. De rotsachtige grond wordt opgeblazen, de grond wordt diep omgeploegd en de rotsfragmenten worden met de grond vermengd.
